Garfinkle treble leaves Redbridge in seventh heaven

Redbridge returned to league football after their double-header with Hendon and found their confidence undimmed.

Redbridge took an early lead with James Berkley tapping in after some clever footwork after about 10 minutes played and continued with their foot on the gas through out the half.

Goal two came from a clever switched pass from debutant Ben Chernoff, who found the dancing feet of Sam Sollosi who passed the ball into the net. The third goal arrived before the break, the on-rushing Adam Goldman scoring the first of his two goals.

At half-time, it was reiterated to Redbridge how important it would be for them to keep their foot down and play their expansive football which would wear Brixton out. Goal four came from a fine run and finish from Goldman. Brixton got a goal back in extraordinary circumstances with a mix-up between Matt Niman and the goalkeeper Brad Grant, which saw Grant seem to stop and continue berating Niman rather than getting back in goal. Brixton just continued playing and shot into an unguarded net.

From then on, it was the Garfinkle show with a smart right-foot finish when he probably should have used his left foot, a smart chip over the keeper having taken the ball down brilliantly and a fine finish to complete his hat-trick.

A late consolation did little to change the game , the last 10 minutes lacked any shape but the game was well and truly up for Brixton.
