Germany republishes Mein Kampf, 70 years after Hitler’s death
Thousands of copies of Hitler’s anti-Semitic book Mein Kampf are set to be republished this week the expiry of copyright at the end of 2015.
The Institute of Contemporary History in Germany has said it will republish a critically annotated version stretching to over 2,000 pages – three times as long as the original – after the copyright expired on 31 December, 70 years after Hitler’s death.
German military historian Prof. Michael Epkenhans said academics would use Hitler’s manifesto to show his misguided view of the world.
“The annotations will show how Hitler was utterly wrong in explaining historical social and political developments. This is what makes it a very important addition.”
