Redbridge A midfielder gets on scoresheet against Scotland and Northern Ireland in Euro qualifiers warm-up.

Russell Goldstein (2) celebrates one of England's 16 goals against Northern Ireland

Russell Goldstein enjoyed a successful Four Nations tournament for England’s futsal team ahead of next month’s European qualifiers in Bulgaria.

Facing Scotland, Northern Ireland and hosts Wales over three days, Goldstein, who also plays for Redbridge A, scored one and made a goal in their 9-0 win over Scotland, before getting on the scoresheet again and claiming two assists in their 16-1 win over the Irish. However, the tournament ended on a losing note, as the Three Lions lost for the first ever time to Wales, beaten 6-2.

Goldstein said: “The Northern Ireland game was my best of the tournament, and although we were the better team against Wales, they were more clinical and that’s what wins you games.

“This tournament was a great learning curve for myself as it I gained valuable minutes to help me develop at international level and we can now look forward to the Euro qualifiers.”
