Google and Work Avenue create ‘Start-Up Central’

Over 200 people came together to share expertise about growing their businesses

Work Avenue has teamed up with The Digital Garage from Google to create Start-Up Central, a one-stop shop event for entrepreneurs, freelancers and growing businesses.

Supported by Barnet Council and Barclays Bank, the event, held on Sunday, brought over 200 delegates together to learn how to reach more customers online, network and grow their businesses.

Business advisers and representatives from Barclays Bank and Work Avenue were also on hand to offer their advice to the budding entrepreneurs.

Work Avenue, which operates primarily across the Jewish community, was established in 2006 to empower people to find employment or run their own businesses. The charity offers one to one advice, workshops, events and a mentoring programme

Shraga Zaltzman, Chief Executive of Work Avenue said: “One of the biggest challenges our clients face in building their businesses is knowing what they don’t know.

“Being able to offer direct access to Google’s expertise has been a fabulous way for us to help our clients learn more about building an effective online presence and taking them one step closer to building sustainable businesses to support them and their families.”
