Group bringing Jewish and Asian business leaders together wins award

AJBN recognised for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion at the Signature Awards, with the group's founder saying it was 'humbling' to be honoured

Asian-Jewish Business Network award-winners!

A group bringing together business leaders from the Jewish and Asian communities has scooped a major award.

The Asian-Jewish Business Network was recognised for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion at the Signature Awards, held for the first time in London, last week.

Despite launching just three months before the start of the pandemic, the network’s members’ club has tripled in size during the last 18 months, pivoting to online events and launching a magazine and a digital women’s network.

The award comes only a week before the AJBN’s flagship annual event at Lord’s Cricket Ground, which is expected to attract more than 500 people.

“It was humbling to be recognised for the work that we do for both the Asian and Jewish communities,” said Russell Bahar, who founded the group with Jewish News‘ Justin Cohen.

“It was wonderful to be with so many industry leaders celebrating so many successes achieved despite the pandemic.”

Ninder Johal said: “If the U.K. economy is to maximise its potential it needs to utilise every bit of talent available. But to to do that we need an inclusive society that allows all individuals access to the same opportunities. Many congratulations to the Asian Jewish Network for being a beacon for inclusivity and diversity.”
