A man from Hackney who shouted that he was “going to kill all the Jews” has been found guilty of racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment.

Stuart Birnie, 36, denied the charge at Wood Green Crown Court, but was convicted on 29 September, and will be sentenced later this month.

The incident occurred on 17 December last year, after he shouted: “F*** all the Jewish people, go f**** yourself, I’m going to kill all the Jews.”

Volunteers from the Shomrim community patrol group were involved in his arrest.

“The victim in this case was minding his own business when he faced vile anti-Semitic abuse,” said a spokesperson for Shomrim’s Stamford Hill branch.
