We are proud that the JLC’s current 37 members are communal organisations from across the spectrum of Jewish life, including national synagogue denominations, care organisations, education charities, regional representative councils and the Board of Deputies.

The role
The Head of Strategic Collaboration will work closely with the JLC Membership Manager, Lead and the Co-CEOs to facilitate increased and improved capabilities, cooperation and collaboration across Jewish communal organisations and leaders. Their work will enhance and enable community sustainability.
This role combines two of the three tenets of our purpose: connecting and coordinating the Jewish charitable sector and strengthening leadership across our community.
They will identify areas in which to develop collaborative projects based on evidence, data and need.
They will drive collaborative strategic initiatives, supported by the JLC, managing a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Current projects include the areas of youth mental health, digital development and charity income research.
They will build positive and productive relationships and manage stakeholders to nurture collaborative efforts, implementing key strategic initiatives. They will have a keen interest in strategic planning and will be able to diplomatically and effectively work across the community when approaching challenge.
They will work in collaboration with our Communications team to utilise and expand the JLC Community Portal to support strategic collaboration and as a resource for our members and the wider community.
Person specification
We are passionate about the role of the JLC in the community and specifically the way in which we are able to facilitate collaborative initiatives to sustain, build and enhance vibrant Jewish communities across the UK.
We are looking for someone who is committed and enthusiastic about driving change with a proven track record of success in significant projects. This role requires someone who is driven, dynamic and innovative. They will be an excellent relationship builder with strong written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to manage meetings with those in positions of influence within community organisations, building support for the projects undertaken.
This role will give you an opportunity to work with the community’s major Jewish communal organisations within a dynamic and exciting team. It will provide opportunity and scope for personal and professional growth, supported by our leadership.
Specific responsibilities
Lead and manage delivery of current key initiatives driven by data and evidence on time and within budget. Current areas of work include youth mental health, digital development and charity income research to better understand the financial sustainability of the Jewish Charitable sector
Coordinate specific multi-stakeholder projects, managing consultants and advisors where appropriate
Measure, analyse and report on the impact of strategic collaborative work, giving recommendations for action and next steps where necessary
Understand and engage with broad communal activity and trends in order to explore and articulate the key challenges for the JLC to address
Devise and deliver future areas of strategic collaboration, presenting rationale, need and proposed action to the Co-CEOs, JLC Trustees and JLC Council of Membership for consultation and approval
Communicate updates and engage the wider JLC team and members where appropriate
Working together with the Membership Manager, understand and respond to the challenges our members face, highlighting opportunities for collaboration to meet these challenges and further our members’ individual and collective impact
Essential Qualities
Knowledge of the UK Jewish community and its infrastructure
Demonstrable experience of working with and leading multiple stakeholders
A proven track record of an ability to drive and implement change
Experience of working both independently and within a team
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Ability to manage and report on multiple projects whilst prioritising effectively
The ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
A methodical and research/data driven approach to problem solving
Aptitude and passion for identifying and implementing strategic solutions
Desirable Qualities
Experience leading large complex meetings with multiple stakeholders
Knowledge of the Third Sector and key areas of challenge and development
Experience of budget planning and management
Experience in coaching or leadership development

The salary range of this role is: £40,000 – £43,000 commensurate with experience
We offer a holiday allowance of 20 days in addition to relevant Jewish festivals and bank holidays
