HMH Tel Aviv get season off to a winning start

Having won a raffle at last season’s JNMJFL awards night to write a report on his side’s opening league game, 7-year-old Matthew Benn did just last, after his side’s HMH Tel Aviv’s opening game of the season on Sunday…

Our new season got off to a great start this Sunday as HMH Tel Aviv took on HMH Tiberias in the JN U8s Maccabi Junior Football League.

Our first goal was score by me and was set up by Sam Mindel who then went on to score two more goals. Harry Jacobs pulled one back for HMH Tiberias, before we got our fourth goal scored by Ethan Swead.

Taking their turn in goal for us was Joey Sanders and Alex Levin who made some amazing saves as the shots were fired in by HMH Tiberias, while helping us in defence was Max Bellau. HMH Tiberias played a great game against us.

Our coach Sam Sanders said: “Sterling performance and all bodes well for the forthcoming season!!”.

I am very excited that the season has started again and look forward to a winning season ahead for HMH Tel Aviv.
