Holocaust remembrance conference postponed amid covid-19 fears

A Holocaust remembrance conference for second generation families has been postponed to reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading.
Organisers plan to reschedule “Remembering and Rethinking: The international forum on the Second Generation” later this year after the High Holidays.
The two-day event at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium on 21 to 22 April was to feature talks by the daughter of the Kindertransport founder Sir Nicholas Winton, Barbara, and Lord Eric Pickles.
It was organised by the Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) with the Chelsea Foundation in a media partnership with Jewish News.
A spokesperson for the AJR said: “We will be in touch as soon as we have a new date although we will probably not be in a position to do so until after June when next season’s Premiership fixtures are announced.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused but our priority remains the well-being of our members – and their families – and our colleagues and guests.”
The total number of confirmed cases in the UK has risen to 373, from 319 on Monday, authorities said on Tuesday.
