Hot dogs! The search begins to crown Britain’s cutest Jewish pet

Comedian Ashley Blaker to judge Jewish Blind & Disabled's PETron competition, which is attracting entries from across the UK

Acclaimed comedian Ashley Blaker will judge a contest to find Britain’s cutest Jewish pet.

The Jewish Blind & Disabled PETron competition has already attracted entries from around the UK, some of which you can see here.

The winner will be the dog, cat, parrot or tortoise whose picture raises the biggest smile from Ashley. They will receive a special trophy and PetsPyjamas travel box.

The Jewish Blind & Disabled PETron scheme is a unique fundraising initiative, where supporters can sign their furry or feathery friends up as supporters.

Becoming a PETron costs just £5 a month (or £60 a year) and comes with a name tag and certificate, special toys, treats and entry to the annual competition.

Ashley said: “I’m looking forward to seeing some cute pets, all of whom are helping a very special cause.”

Jewish Blind & Disabled Chief Executive Hazel Kaye added: “This competition is one our favourite parts of the year – with so many fantastic photos sent in.

“Best of all, every PETron signed up enables us to continue to provide a life of independence, dignity and choice.”
