Ian Wright and Chief Rabbi guest at fundraising lunch
More than £250,000 raised at Maccabi London Brady annual fundraiser.
Former Arsenal footballer Ian Wright and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis were among the guests at Maccabi London Brady’s annual fundraising lunch.
Speaking at the charity’s 10th event, the Chief Rabbi described the role of MLB as a hub for Jewish continuity, while ex-England striker Wright was interviewed by Sky Sports presenter David Jones and described the vital importance of sport in the lives of children and teenagers.
David Kyte, Chairman of MLB said: “Maccabi London Brady is, proudly, a magnet for Jewish families from all walks of life and of every denomination and level of observance. We are incredibly grateful to those who generously donate to our charity, keeping our facilities affordable for everybody to use.
“The Jewish tradition is to invest in our children and I am delighted by the response of our community to the appeal.”
More than 200 guests attended the event at The Park Lane Hotel, where more than £250,000 of donations was generated, which will go towards the annual running costs of the Maccabi London Brady sports site.
