Idan Raichel plays sell out show at JW3

Israeli superstar Idan Raichel performed two concerts at JW3’s Howard Hall last night, with the 9pm concert selling out.

The Idan Raichel Project has topped the Israeli charts with its fusion of modern Israeli sounds and Ethiopian folk melodies, while gaining an international fan base.

Raichel has become known for his ambitious collaborations that cross cultures and have changed the face of Israeli popular music.

He has collaborated with Vieux Farka Touré, son of Malian musician Ali Farka Touré, and in July 2013 performed alongside Alicia Keys at her first ever concert in Israel.

The band have headlined some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including New York’s Central Park Summer Stage, the Sydney Opera House, London’s Royal Albert Hall and many international festivals.

In January 2014, Idan Raichel was awarded Israel’s prestigous ACUM Composer of the Year Award 2013 for his Quarter to Six album.
