IDF kills Palestinian terrorist who murdered 2 Israeli brothers in West Bank

The Palestinian terrorist who murdered two Israeli brothers in the West Bank last month was killed on Tuesday in an IDF raid in the city of Jenin.

At least five other Palestinians were killed and 11 injured in the West Bank army  raid, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The IDF entered Jenin to search for Abdel Fattah Hussein Gharusha, 49, a Hamas operative who killed two Israeli brothers in the city of Huwara last month.

Gharusha shot and killed Hallel and Yagel Yaniv in broad daylight as they were stuck in a traffic jam in their car. He then proceeded to flee on foot.

Gharusha was among several Palestinians who refused to surrender when IDF came to arrest them in Jenin on Tuesday.

“The forces used shoulder-fired missiles and additional means toward the residence in which the wanted suspect was barricaded. During the activity, armed suspects fired heavily toward the forces, who responded with live fire. A hit was identified. Among the other events, armed suspects were identified opening live fire towards the soldiers from an ambulance, and used the vehicle as a shield,” the IDF said.

The IDF also operated in the nearby city of Nablus on Tuesday, saying it arrested two of Gharusha’s sons who were suspected of planning and aiding the terror attack carried out by their father.

Nablus has been the centre of numerous Israeli army raids since April last year, after a string of Palestinian terror attacks inside Israel.

IDF launched three large-scale raids in the West Bank this year, two of which took place in Jenin and one in Nablus.

At least 66 Palestinians have been killed in 2023, most of whom Israel says were either directly or indirectly involved in terror. 14 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian terror attacks in 2023.
