IGCSE question on properties of hydrogen illustrated with Nazi era airship

Pearson has apologised for illustrating their Edexel IGCSE chemistry paper on the properties of hydrogen with a picture of a Nazi era airship.
The exam board’s parent company apologised in a statement to Jewish News on Wednesday.
“We apologise for any unintentional offense caused by this image,” a spokesperson said.
“Students sitting an international GCSE chemistry paper were asked to identify the properties of hydrogen that made it suitable for an airship.
“The question was accompanied by an image of a German airship, given airships were prevalent in the Second World War period. The image was illustrating this particular period.”
This comes after several students took to social media to share messages and memes about the image.
One user wrote: “A Nazi Air Ship??? Not what I was expecting on my Edexel IGCSE Chem paper when I woke up not this morning… #GCSEs2019″
