Immanuel College appoints new deputy head

Claire Shooter has been appointed as the Bushey schools new deputy head following Beth Kerr’s departure

Claire Shooter has been appointed as the new deputy head of Immanuel College in Bushey, following Beth Kerr’s departure.  

Shooter, head of Year 7 girls and Spanish, has previously served as assistant head of sixth form, head of young enterprise and head of upper school PSHE for Years 10 and 11.

She holds a first class honours degree in Hispanic studies from the University of Birmingham and a PGCE from the University of Herfordshire.

The appointment, effective from April 29, follows two rounds of interviews, three written exercises, a role play and two presentations.

Headmaster Gary Griffin wrote in a letter to parents: “We wish Mrs Shooter all the best as she begins her new role next term, following Mrs Kerr’s departure.”
