IN PICTURES: MANNA feeds many!

More than 250 people attended the fourth gala dinner of MANNA, the UK branch of Israeli relief charity Meir Panim, at London’s Sheraton Park Lane Hotel.

Martin Lewis, founder of moneysavingexpert.com was guest of honour, chef Gamliel from Haifa and chef Shalom Kadosh from Jerusalem (who has cooked for monarchs and heads of state) devised a delicious menu and French-Israeli singer Amir Haddad (of France’s The Voice) added a touch of music and elegance to the evening, which raised more than £200,000 for poor people in Israel.

Some 1.6 million people in the country live in poverty. MC was Alex Brummer, an economics commentator and city editor of the Daily Mail.

Martin Lewis said: “The work that happens [at Meir Panim] is incredibly powerful and important,” adding: “We all have a social and financial responsibility to help those who aren’t in our position.”
