IN PICTURES: Tikva UK dinner raises £1m for orphans in Ukraine

More than £1million was raised for orphaned kids in Odessa, Ukraine at Tikva UK’s annual fundraising dinner. As conflict in Ukraine rages, Tikva UK continues the search for at-risk Jewish children in the region. Funds will be used to find and help bring them in to a safer environment.

Global Tikva CEO Refael Kruskal gave a first-hand account of traumatic life in Odessa and impressionist and comedian Alastair McGowan provided entertainment for 230 guests.

The event saw Tikva UK chief executive Karen Bodenstein describe the situation in as being “of grave concern” and stressed that “Tikva must not stop its relentless search for Jewish children in need of safety, security and the opportunity for a positive future”. The event took place at London’s Millennium Mayfair Hotel.
