Israel brings in Independence Day with a bang!

Fireworks light up the Tel Aviv night sky as Israelis celebrate the country’s 68th Independence Day. Elsewhere, Israel's Air Force marked the occasion with a special nationwide aerial show.

Fireworks lit up the Tel Aviv night sky on Wednesday as Israelis celebrated the country’s 68th Independence Day.

Israel’s Air Force held a special aerial show crossing all of Israel.

President Reuven Rivlin hosted a ceremony in Jerusalem, where 120 Medals of Excellence were awarded to IDF soldiers.

Across Israel, towns and cities held all-night-parties and barbecues, performances and other events.

Yom Ha’atzmaut comes immediately after Yom Hazikaron – Israel’s national day of remembrance for more than 23,000 fallen soldiers and victims of terror.
