Israel hits back in Syria after bombing injures IDF soldiers

Israeli airstrikes in Syria have targeted military installations in retaliation for a bombing that wounded four soldiers in the Golan Heights on Tuesday.

The IDF said the Syrian army had “aided and abetted” an attack on an IDF patrol and struck back at regional headquarters, a training facility and artillery batteries.

“Our policy is very clear,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “We hurt those who hurt us.”

Since the Syrian civil war began as an Arab Spring uprising three years ago, several Israeli air raids are believed to have targeted advanced weaponry bound for Lebanese-based militia Hezbollah. These latest operations though are believed to be the first direct acts of retaliation.
