Dozens of Israeli entrepreneurs are set to join an online start-up bootcamp for hundreds of students, aspiring business leaders, graduates and job seekers.

Among the names on the lineup are Likud MK and former Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat, Jon Medved, chief executive officer of investment platform OurCrowd, and Aharon Aharon, who heads the Israeli government’s tech investment arm.

Organisers hope the 24H Bootcamp, to kick off at 6pm on 15 September, will generate more than 100 projects and draw up to 500 participants.

During the event, experts, investors and business founders will offer free mentoring and lead talks on business areas ranging from fintech to blockchain. A shortlist of participants will get the chance to pitch a business idea to a panel of early-stage investors and business angels.

Entrepreneurship expert Yossi Dan, chief innovation officer at the firm Challengy, spearheaded the event. “Using our robust knowledge of startups, our goal is to assist hundreds of talented individuals affected by the Covid economy – for free,” he said.
