Israeli football hits new low as they fall behind Palestine in world rankings

Managerless side drop to a lowest ever 98th place, also below the likes of the Faroe Islands and Curacao

Israel’s football team is set to hit an all-time low after they dropped down the rankings, falling behind the likes of the Faroe Islands, Curacao and Palestinian national side.

FIFA, football’s world governing body, will release the latest rankings on Thursday, when Israel are set to fall 16 places to 98th place.

Having been ranked as high as 18th in 2008, the team have endured a steady decline over the past three qualifying groups for the World Cup and European Championships, and are currently without a manager.
