Israeli Sephardi Chief Rabbi visit to UK will be “great honour”

The Senior Rabbi of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews’ Congregation has spoken of their “great honour” ahead of the UK visit of Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel in March, writes Stephen Oryszczuk

Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, son of the late Ovadia Yosef, will be making his first visit to the UK since taking office in 2013, and will be touring the London community between Monday 7 March and Wednesday 9 March.

Rabbi Dweck, Senior Rabbi of the S&P Sephardi Community, said: “It is a great honour for the UK Sephardi community to welcome The Rishon LeZion (the formal title given to the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel). His visit will be a great inspiration and source of strength for the community”.

Yosef will visit senior Rabbonim and Dayanim before visiting numerous London Jewish schools, before touring Stamford Hill, concluding with a meeting with at Bevis Marks.
