Israeli starts London Marathon…at the finishing line

Israeli Hagai Penkar started the London Marathon at the finishing line.

Israeli Hagai Penkar became the last person to start Sunday’s London Marathon – after turning up for the start of it at the finishing line.

Running for the Haifa Police Station, Penkar turned up for the start of the 26-mile race at Green Park – ten miles where he should have been.

Telling BBC Radio 5 Live how he programmed in a route to the finishing line, instead of the starting line from his hotel, he finally began the race at 10.38am – becoming the final runner to get underway.
