Israeli trio handed tough draws at French Open

Sela has only won once on clay in 2014

Israel’s three tennis players have been handed testing first round matches at this year’s French Open.

With Amir Weintraub having been knocked out in the first qualifying round on Tuesday, Israel’s only representative in the men’s singles is Dudi Sela, who ranked 110 in the world, takes on American Donald Young. Sela will be looking to reach the second round of the tournament for just the second time in five years.

In the women’s competition, Shahar Peer, ranked 86th, faces a tough proposition in the 18th seed, Canadian Eugenie Bouchard, while Julia Glushko, ranked 98th, takes on Croatian Donna Vekic.

The trio are due on court on Monday.
