An Israeli university is to celebrate Israel’s 70th Independence Day with a series of challenges involving puzzles, quizzes and riddles about the country.

The New Educational Challenge at the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education of Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan is being launched in collaboration with The AVI CHAI Foundation.

The seventy 5-minute challenges about Israel will be offered in four grade levels and both schools and individuals can compete with others worldwide to win points.

Organisers said educational challenges will be emailed daily to all individuals and schools that sign up, with the games accessible online for the duration of the celebrations and beyond.

“This is a great, fun, educational way to engage children and teens worldwide in the upcoming Yom HaAtzmaut [Independence Day] celebrations,” said Rabbi Yonah Fuld, Lookstein’s educational director.

The 70 challenges for 70 days are a way for the University to involve children, teachers, principals and parents, he added.
