Israeli winger Manor Solomon set for £7m move from Tottenham to West Ham
The 27-year-old is poised to follow Yossi Benayoun and Eyal Berkovic in representing the east London club
Israeli winger Manor Solomon is closing in on a £7 million move to West Ham after the club reached an agreement with Tottenham for his permanent transfer.
West Ham are understood to have agreed to pay £5m up front, with a further £2m in potential add-ons, while Tottenham would retain a 10 percent sell-on clause.
Solomon, 27, is expected to complete the remaining formalities before the move is confirmed.
The transfer would give the Israel international a fresh start after struggling to establish himself at Spurs since joining the club in 2023.
His agent, Shlomi Ben Ezra, has said Solomon wants regular football and highlighted West Ham’s history of Israeli players.
He told Israeli outlet Sports5: “Manor isn’t expected to be a starter at Tottenham, at least not in the near future.
“If I were a Tottenham player, I’d also aim to join a club where I’d be in the starting lineup; that’s the goal. A player’s career is short, and after eight years in Europe, Manor wants to make an impact.
“I think, without any personal bias, he has to play. He has a place at Tottenham, but some people think otherwise.
“West Ham are a huge club; Yossi Benayoun and Eyal Berkovic were there, too.”
News of the proposed move has also prompted discussion among West Ham supporters on social media, including some openly antisemitic comments.
One X user wrote: “I am anti-Semitic, and I still want Solomon, it’s football – shouldn’t matter where you are from.”
Solomon began his career at Maccabi Petah Tikva before moving to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in 2019.
He spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Fulham before joining Tottenham on a free transfer in 2023, but injuries limited him to six competitive appearances for Spurs.
The winger later helped Leeds United win promotion from the Championship during a season-long loan before spending last season at Villarreal and Fiorentina.
If the deal is completed, Solomon will join a line of Israeli internationals to have represented West Ham, including Benayoun and Berkovic.
