An early meet time saw Harmen the only team at Chase Lodge for a good 25 minutes, allowing them to get the pre-match preparations complete with no interruptions.
A return to their home pitch was well received by the players after making it a fortress last season and that continued today with a faultless performance from all 14 players involved.
With the size and ability of the squad, the starting 11 was being tinkered with up until the last minute but a unanimous decision was finally reached and the decision seemed to be the right one after 10 minutes as they settled into their game and started passing the ball around, most passes finding their men.
Woodford started well but never looked like putting the Harmen net in danger with the back line holding strong, apart from two occasions which drew top quality saves from goalkeeper Harry Fine, one shot in each half which both looked like finding the corner until Fine flung himself low to his left to push the ball to safety, and if one of these saves doesn’t make save of the week then ill be very surprised.
The first goal came from Jake Gottleib after 35 minutes, a well placed finish from around 25 yards which finished inside the goalkeeper’s right hand post, a well taken goal that never looked like missing from the moment it left Jake’s foot.
Harmen’s second goal and making it two goals in two games, came from James Gershfield who seems to have settled very well into the side, A long ball was flicked on by Gottleib to Gershfield who took one touch and fired across the keeper into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Both goals could be contenders for goal of the week.
Three substitutes came on to shore the game up after the second goal with Omri, Jon Morris and Joey Lazare all putting a shift in to secure the three points.
