Jeremy Corbyn will be granted a pass to Labour’s conference in Brighton later this month.
The former leader will also be free to address fringe meetings despite his status at the moment as an independent MP, a party spokesperson has confirmed.
The Islington North MP had the whip suspended by leader Keir Starmer last year over his response to the EHRC report into the handling of antisemitism.
A Labour spokesperson told the Guardian: “He’s definitely not barred: of course he will be getting a conference pass.”
A senior Labour source told Jewish News: “Look, Jeremy Corbyn is still a member of the party.
“Of course he is still allowed to go to conference, even if he is not currently a Labour MP.
“You don’t have to be a Labour member to apply to attend party conference either.
“It has not been uncommon for Conservatives to attend and to speak in past years.”
