Jewish charity to host Katie Hopkins at women’s event
Notorious commentator to speak alongside art collector and philanthropist Candida Gertler and Israeli artist Yifat Bezalel at a Migdal Ohr UK event
A UK Jewish charity is set to host one of the UK’s most notorious political commentators, who has expressed support for a party that wants to ban shechita.
Katie Hopkins, whose views also include anti-vaccination conspiracies, describing migrants as “cockroaches” and the belief that Britain is “overrun” by Muslims, is being advertised as a speaker at Migdal Ohr UK’s International Woman’s Day event, to be held on Tuesday 17 March. The “special evening”, is being held to celebrate “the launch of Migdal Ohr’s art programme…harnessing the power of art to help vulnerable young Israeli women.”
While Ms Hopkins is perhaps best known for her remarks regarding migrants and people with dementia – in 2015 she described how “Dementia sufferers should not be blocking beds” in hospital – she continues to promote extreme political commentary to more than 1.4 million followers on X.
The 51-year-old has repeatedly praised Rupert Lowe MP and his Restore political party. In a February tweet, Hopkins described Lowe as “the Prime Minister Great Britain so desperately needs.” Lowe has repeatedly spoken about his aim of ending kosher slaughter. Hopkins has not directly commented on this.
Hopkins’ recent tweets also contain regular anti-vaccination sentiments, particularly with regard to the Covid vaccine, in particular using the phrase “vaccine injured”, wording most commonly used by Covid-19 vaccine conspiracy theorists.
In October 2025, following the dismissal of Mike Graham from Talk TV after a post on his social media account which read: “Tell me we’re not f***** by multicultural bollocks. Why are we surrounded by non-white people?” Hopkins wrote – “Who gives a sh*t what he wrote on Facebook. Stop pandering to the special needs tw*t missing a spine.”
That same month, Hopkins labelled both the Board of Deputies of British Jews and Jewish MP Peter Prinsley “traitors to brave Jewish people”.
In a recent video interview, Hopkins also said, regarding the UK, that “we are overrun in every way” by Muslims, and that to combat this, “the time of the crusades must come again”.
Hopkins has been advertised by Migdal Ohr as due to speak alongside art collector and philanthropist Candida Gertler and Israeli artist Yifat Bezalel.
Jewish News approached Migdal Ohr UK to ask whether they were aware of Hopkins’ opinions on these issues, as well as asking whether she had been invited specifically because of her pro-Israel views, and whether her fellow speakers had been made aware of whom they were due to appear alongside.
A representative from Migdal Ohr UK said: “This event is non-political, to support International Women’s Day and the children of Migdal Ohr. Katie, is very supportive of that cause and indeed, the state of Israel, to which we are grateful.”
