Jewish girl, 17, reportedly verbally abused on bus before man tried to punch her

Shomrim says man shouted 'you Jews, you have it all good' before trying and failing to physically assault the teen

Stamford Hill

A Jewish girl was reportedly subject to verbal and attempted physical abuse on a bus in Stamford Hill.

The police are investigating after a man is claimed to have shouted “you Jews, you have it all good” at a 17-year-old girl on the 253 bus, before trying and failing to hit her.

The Me Police released a statement saying: ““Police were contacted by a third-party on Saturday, 12 October regarding an allegation of antisemitic abuse and an attempted assault on a teenager who was onboard a bus in Hackney.

The offence is believed to have occurred 10 days earlier.”

Officers are in the process of trying to speak with the victim and his family.”

According to Shomrim, the incident happened as the bus came to Lea Bridge roundabout near Stamford Hill.

Campaign Against Antisemitism said the perpetrator was a “skinny and tall male in his twenties with short hair, wearing sunglasses and a hooded green sweatshirt.”

They added that he continued to insult Jewish people and nobody intervened.

The reference for the incident is 7063 12/1019, and Shomrim have urged anyone with information to contact them or the British Transport Police.
