Jewish News ‘highly commended’ at regional press awards

Jewish News has been ‘highly commended’ as one of the top two free newspapers in the country by the prestigious Society Of Editors.

The Jewish community’s most popular newspaper was handed the accolade after being named runner-up in the Free Weekly Newspaper of the Year category at Friday’s Regional Press Awards.

Jewish News was shortlisted alongside five other titles, Camden New Journal, Islington Tribune, St Helens Star, Yellow Advertiser and overall winner Slough & Windsor Express.

Editor Richard Ferrer said: “There are many hundreds of outstanding free newspapers across the UK, so to be named by the prestigious Society of Editors as the one of the very best is a wonderful accolade and recognition of the tireless dedication of my incredible team.”

Jewish News previously won Free Newspaper of the Year at Press Gazette’s 2002 Regional Press Awards.
