Jewish News junior League hold end of season awards night
Celebrating another successful season, League Chairman Laurence Thorne said: “As another fantastic season ends, plans immediately began to the setting up for 2014/2015 and I am delighted to announce that we again have a maximum number of 56 team entries across our Under 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 age groups ready to play for next season. On Monday evening, we held 2 award ceremonies, the first for our Under 7 and U8s, having 110 children attending and the second for the U9, 10 and 11s, having a further 160 children attending. It was fantastic to have just standing room left in the hall and shows the strength of the league. We had over 600 registered players and expect a similar total for the coming season.
Playing on state of the art all weather pitches, with qualified referees officiating the majority of our matches, we held mystery competitions, Minor Cups and Challenge Cups, together with Division 1 and 2 leagues for both the U10 and U11 age groups. There were many very competitive matches and all in all the positive comments back from both players and parents show how popular the League has become.
I have a very supportive and active committee and as we are non profit seeking, annually look towards financial sponsorship for the league, or a cup competition and as our costs escalate, the sponsorship is ever so much more required. I thank the Jewish News for their excellent coverage in the paper and their sponsorship of the league.

I am delighted to report that we are hoping to have a new Club join the league, with 2 teams, and we always welcome new blood, as this the way our league will survive and grow for the future.
