Leader of Jewish schools group to step down

The man charged with “shaping the strategic future” of Jewish education is to step down from the sector’s community steering group.

Alastair Falk, Director of Partnerships for Jewish Schools (PaJeS) is leaving to take up a role outside the Jewish education sector after two years.

It follows high-profile criticism from Jewish primary school headteachers, who said there was a “leadership crisis” in Jewish education.

Falk, who helped set up PaJeS in 2012, said: “This is a great time for Jewish schools.”

PaJeS chairman Jonathan Goldstein said they would now be appointing a successor.
