Jewish tech guru makes list of ten of LinkedIn Power Profiles for 2015

Gary Simon

The former chairman of Woodside Park United Synagogue and founder of a group fighting anti-Semitism online has been listed alongside Richard Branson and David Cameron as a top ten business contact.

Gary Simon, a tech guru and now the shul’s warden, was one of ten LinkedIn Power Profiles for 2015, together with the Virgin boss and prime minister as well as ‘The Apprentice’ finalist Bianca Miller and James Caan from TV series Dragon’s Den.

“Obviously, it is a huge accolade in the business world, and we at Woodside Park are very proud to see our warden honoured with such illustrious company,” said a statement from the synagogue.

Inclusion in the list by the world’s largest business-oriented social network is down to Simon’s FSN Modern Finance Forum, which has more than 43,500 members.

A publisher and former Deloitte partner, Simon uses his technological expertise to help Jews confront anti-Semitism in social media through DJFirst.org, a site designed to help the “digital Jew”.

After receiving the networking award, Simon said: “I feel quite shocked and humbled to be in the company of so many notable industry luminaries.”
