A Jewish youth organisation’s pandemic-prompted platform has been announced as a finalist in this year’s Children & Young People Now Award after bringing 80 online shows to an audience of 1.8 million viewers.

JLGB Virtual, which is sponsored by Jewish News, connects online audiences to deliver skills sessions, workshops, and daily acts of kindness, with special guest appearances from Paralympians, British TV personalities, famous scientists, singer-songwriters, and even Hollywood stars.

Developed to make sure children and young people could continue to have fun, volunteer, learn and make a difference during lockdown, JLGB Virtual said it “aims to have a positive impact on young people’s mental health, wellbeing and resilience”.

JLGB, which is approaching its 125th year, had a further boost this autumn when Prince Charles agreed to be the charity’s patron.
