Schools inspectorate Ofsted confirmed this week it launched a surprise inspection of secondary school JFS last week “in response to concerns” raised to the official body.

A spokesman said: “We confirm there was a Section 5 [surprise] inspection of JFS, undertaken of our own volition and in response to concerns.”

Further details were not given and a full report will be available after the summer.

The school declined to comment. Ofsted’s last report identified JFS as being outstanding in every one of the 39 measures by which schools are assessed.
