JLM appoint Lubner as new south of England organiser as membership grows

The Jewish Labour Movement have confirmed the appointment of Jack Lubner as their south of England organiser – with a similar role for the north of the country being created later this year.

Lubner, a former president of Cambridge University’s Jewish Society and Union of Jewish Students national council member, has begun duties in the professional role, as JLM seek to reap the benefits from a growing membership.

A volunteer with JLM for several years previously, Alyth Synagogue member Lubner had served as one of the group’s youth and student officers since 2019, and is also a trustee with the Yachad organisation  having been a senior youth leader in RSY-Netzer youth movement.

Adam Langleben, JLM’s national secretary, said:“JLM has become the product line of young political talent in the community and we are thrilled that Jack has joined us professionally. “Jack is a future leader of the community and there is no better on the job training than at JLM. With Jack and plans for a first ever Northern organiser, alongside our 4000 members, we are eager and ambitious to play our part in the election of a Keir Starmer led Labour government.”

Since 2014 JLM has grown from 300 to over 4000 members and has led Jewish members and supporters in the fightback against antisemitism within Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party.

JLM was a complainant to the EHRC and compiled member testimony and worked with whistleblowers to provide sworn evidence to the EHRC which led to the finding that the Labour Party under Corbyn broke equality law towards its Jewish members.
