John Mann warns about ‘Shoah revisionism’ in Labour while defending Rachel Riley

Community ally sounds concerns during debate about Holocaust Memorial Day in parliament

Labour MP John Mann warned on Thursday that Holocaust revisionism remains a problem in the party.

The MP for Bassetlaw spoke during a debate on Holocaust Memorial Day this afternoon, telling parliament: “Holocaust revisionism is a problem all over Europe. It’s a problem in my political party.

“It’s a problem in this country. It’s a problem that we are not facing up to sufficiently robustly or successfully.”

Mann, a frequent critic of Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour leadership’s handling of the party’s anti-semitism crisis, also defended Rachel Riley after the Channel 4 Countdown presenter faced a torrent of abuse on social media for expressing her opposition to comments by the Labour leadership.

Mr Mann said: “That’s why Rachel Riley is getting all the c*** she’s getting at the moment.”

Riley took to Twitter to thank Mr Mann for his support, saying: “Thank you @JohnMannMP for your decades spent working on what you believe is right, including against antisemitism.”
