Jon Stewart’s replacement Trevor Noah accused of ‘anti-Semitic’ tweets
The replacement for Jon Stewart on the popular American satirical programme ‘The Daily Show’, has come under criticism for a series of ‘anti-Semitic’ and offensive tweets.
Stewart left the programme earlier in 2015, and the replacement was announced as South African born Trevor Noah on Monday, whose Mother is half Jewish.
Noah was appointed as Stewart’s successor, tweeting this upon the announcement.
No-one can replace Jon Stewart. But together with the amazing team at The Daily Show, we will continue to make this the best damn news show!

But, before he had even begun, Tom Gara of Buzzfeed brought to light a series of offensive tweets made between 2009 and 2012. Below:

..and an Israel joke just for good measure:
Noah also posted offensive tweets about women, the LGBT community and other sensitive issues.
He faced a backlash on twitter, with many users slamming him for his comments despite them being a number of years ago.
One such critic was former MP Louise Mensch countered his defence however, highlighting the offence.
