Executive producer and script editor Eleanor Greene is the host of this great new initiative. Along with a glass of wine in JW3’s comfy cinema, the aim is to watch the first of a series together and discuss what works (or doesn’t) from characters to casting and storytelling choices.
With behind-the-scenes insights, clips and interviews, Eleanor brings the craft to life. A month later the group will meet again to watch the final episode together and discuss the series as a whole (favourite moments, plot twists, character arcs, endings, and whether the show delivered on its promise).
At the end of the session, the group votes on the next TV series to watch, so the TV Club constantly evolves through the tastes and choices of its members.
In the first session on 16 September the group will discuss the hit 90s series This Life, which follows a group of recent law graduates navigating their careers and personal lives in south London. The first episode will be screened during the session, but we encourage you to watch as much of the whole series as you can, in advance, for a broader and more in-depth discussion. Both series of This Life can be found on BBC iPlayer.
The TV Club is for singles aged 45+ who love great television and even better conversation. Book at jw3.org.uk
