Since April, JW3 has distributed over 65,000 meals-worth of food packages to vulnerable people via a range of local partners

Commenting on the need for the Big Bid event, JW3 chief executive Raymond Simonson said: “Since we created our emergency food response programme in April, our team of staff and volunteers have collected, sorted, prepared, packed and distributed over 65,000 meals-worth of food packages to vulnerable people”.

“The recipients are individuals and families who are suffering from the growing impact of food poverty – those who suffer from mental health issues, those who have lost their jobs, women with children who have escaped domestic violence situations, homeless people, refugees, individuals who have been completely shielding since March and families living below the poverty line.

“This auction will help us continue delivering nutritious meals to those in need when they need it the most”.

JW3’s social action coordinator Jacob Forman added, “We are more determined than ever to carry on this work, but also need vital support to meet the increasing demand, as the level of need is continuing to rise across Camden and the surrounding areas”.
