King Crown hit Hendon to make it a super six

King Crown made it six wins from six as they saw off Hendon to maintain their three-point lead at the top of the Division Three table.

Played in terrible conditions thanks to the heavy rain which left big puddles, Crown came out the traps early with Phil Braham taking on three players, only for the puddle to tackle him which happened a few times in the first 15 minutes.

They took the in the 20th minute when the Hendon goalkeeper sliced a clearance into the path of Dominique Cheniart who 35 yards out, took one touch before lofting it over the goalkeeper.

With half an hour on the clock, great work between Braham and Jake Garfield on the left flank, saw the latter get to the byline, he roasted the defender, got to the box, and took a shot which while the goalkeeper initially saved, the rebound saw him tuck in the rebound. It should have been four by the break, though on the stroke of half-time, Hendon got a free kick – which they duly scored from.

Speaking at the break as to what they needed to do, five minutes after the restart, Adam Nusenbaum, who worked tirelessly in the game, played a gorgeous one-two with Cheniart, he dummied the defender on the edge of the box and then smashed the ball into the top right hand corner.

With the team dictating the game, Ricky Fox, Josh Aziz and Ben Retter came on and all were superb. Fox hit the post, before the Hendon goalkeeper made a stunning save to keep him out again.

Retter had a great chance, but pushed it wide before being taken out the box, only for the referee to wave away their appeal. They did though score their fourth ten minutes from time, when some great link-up play resulted with Braham received the ball on the left edge of the box and he drilled the ball across the face of goal, into the bottom corner giving the goalkeeper no chance.

Hendon did though round off the scoring, as they made it 4-2 with practically the last kick of the game.
