Kisharon Langdon raises £1million in 36 hours
Learning disability charity says fundraiser was a 'powerful celebration of the lives, voices and achievements of the people we support'
Kisharon Langdon raised £1,090,261 in just 36 hours in its weekend matched funding campaign to support people with learning disabilities and autism.
The campaign ran from 7 – 8 June, bringing together support from across the community online and with in-person events.
The funds raised will go towards Kisharon Langdon’s life changing services, including supported living, education, employment opportunities, and community inclusion programmes, helping people live fulfilled and independent lives on their own terms.
Richard Franklin, chief executive of Kisharon Langdon, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have surpassed our £1 million target. This campaign was more than just a fundraiser. It was a powerful celebration of the lives, voices and achievements of the people we support. ‘
Director of fundraising Emma Nagli added: “This was a truly inspiring community effort. Every donation, every champion and every shared story helped bring this campaign to life. Thanks to this extraordinary support, we can continue to empower people to live full and meaningful lives and proudly say, ‘This is my life.’”
