Kroyter suffers early high jump exit

Bottom-place finish for Israeli athlete at Olympic Stadium.

Dmitry Kroyter failed to reach the final of the high jump competition on Sunday evening after he failed to clear the second jump.

He cleared the first distance of 2.17 at the second attempt, but then failed with all three attempts at 2.22. Finishing bottom of Group A, he finished in 42nd position overall.

The 23-year-old was born in Siberia, with his family emigrating to Israel in 1999. He became Israel’s first ever Youth World Champions at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Athletics.
