London Lions A ensured they’ll end their season with silverware – and in doing so denied Redbridge the chance of securing a league and cup double.

Adam Arnold lobbed the Lions in front midway through the first half, though Zac Neiman levelled the scores with a low-driven free-kick.

However, with extra-time looming, Adam Burchell kept his cool to slot the ball home, to set off wild scenes of celebration.

(Raiders won 4-3 on penalties)
The Raiders became the first side to book their place in the last four of the competition as they beat the MGBSFL Division Two side in thrilling style.

Jordan Sharifian fired Fortune in front, only for Gideon Wetrin to draw the sides level and Paul Lenchner to see them go into the break in front.

Brett Stead pulled the hosts back on level terms five minutes after the restart, and put them back in front three minutes later.

However, Tony Plaskow’s 25-yard strike ensured the game headed to penalties, which the masters side won 4-3.

Camden ended their season on a winning note – and in eighth place – as they inflicted a 16th league win on the division’s bottom side.

Daniel Pike scored for SPEC, for whom player-manager Ricky Lawrence told jewishnews.co.uk: “”An end of an era. We’ve had a blast.”

Raiders moved to within a point of fourth spot after they beat the side currently occupying it in a ten-goal thriller.

Jono Rochwerger, Elad Hertshten, Alex Goodman, Jacob Gold, Jake Gilbert and Rob Benson also scored for the hosts in a topsy-turvey encounter which saw them take a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes, trail 3-2 and then go in level at the break at 3-3. They finally pulled clear in the final 30 minutes with a further three goals.

Manager Jonathan Adelman told jewishnews.co.uk: “This was a nice win to end the season, we scored some good goals and played some lovely beat passing football. It’s much better going in to the summer on the back of a win and the boys are already looking forward to challenging Scrabble for the title next season!

“Special shout out to Matt Leader, Josh Goldstein and Alex Elf for volunteering to share keeper duties – love that team spirit!”

RC UK FC moved up to third spot thanks to this comprehensive win.

Jonti Aremband scored a hat-trick, Akiva Solomon scored twice, with 

Avi Mocton and David Brown also on target.

Player-manager Avi Markiewicz told jewishnews.co.uk: “We controlled the game from start to finish, scored some lovely team goals and really played beautiful football that led to us being 4-0 up at half-time.

“We let in two goals probably because we were too comfortable, but we could and probably should have had several more ourselves. All in all I’m very satisfied with the performance of my team.”

Ben Retter and Michael Rosenthal scored for Boca.

The champions ended their campaign on a winning note, with a win which sees them finish eight points clear at the top of the table.
