Lee Scott appointed government’s special needs envoy
Lee Scott, MP for Ilford North, has been appointed as the government’s special needs envoy, writes Sophie Lipton.
The role involves integrating people with special needs into employment. Scott said: “Employers can make a difference in someone’s life.” The charity Langdon, which helps community members with disabilities live independently, welcomed the news.
Chief executive Dianne Martin said: “Employment assistance is significant as it helps prevent people with disabilities from requiring higher levels of support from local authorities further down the line.”
