Hello Again! The life of singer and songwriter Neil Diamond will be portrayed in a new bio-musical, which is set to open in Boston next summer.

A Beautiful Noise, which will be directed by Michael Mayer and featuring a book from Bohemian Rhapsody screenwriter Anthony McCarten, will open on 21 June, 2022 at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child choreographer Steven Hoggett has also joined the creative team.

Diamond has previously said of the project: “The inspiration for many of my early songs came from shows like West Side Story, My Fair Lady and Fiddler on the Roof. I’m honoured and excited to be working with this great team.”

A Beautiful Noise will chart Diamond’s meteoric rise from “a poor, Jewish kid from Brooklyn to one of the most universally adored showmen of all time”.

Diamond, 80, has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and was inducted  into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.

One of his biggest hits, Sweet Caroline, was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress in 2019.
