Registrations for the Jewish community’s largest cross-communal celebration of Jewish life, learning and culture are officially open.

This year’s Limmud conference returns to Birmingham and runs between Friday 22nd and Wednesday 27th December. It will be the first carbon neutral Limmud event, as promised by incoming chair Hannah Gaventa, appointed in May this year.

Gaventa said: “As Jews, we have a responsibility to ensure we actively preserve our environment for future generations to come. A single net zero Limmud Festival is one thing. A future of sustainable and environmentally conscious Limmud Festivals is the goal.”

The residential event features renowned speakers, educators, artists and thought-leaders and last year welcomed 1,500 participants.

A full programme for the event, now in it’s 44th year and organised almost entirely by dedicated volunteers, is expected by November.
