The game kicked-off in the bright sunshine with fans expecting a lot of goals considering both teams’ form coming into this game. However, both Lions and Raiders started slowly with passes going astray and chances few and far between.

The first half crept by with neither side gaining a foothold on the game. However, a chance fell to Raiders late in the half with their striker finding himself clean through after neat play down the right. His shot brought a great save out of Daniel Lipman, playing his first game of the season, and the sides went in at half-time locked at 0-0.

After some wise words by Marchant and Nagli, Lions came flying out of the blocks, playing much higher up the pitch and stringing some great moves together. The early second half pressure paid off with Lions taking the lead after a great corner was played in by Dean Rosenthal, flicked on by Ed Brafman, and then clipped into the net by Nick Landesberg. After a quiet first half, Lions found themselves 1-0 up.

Lions continued to dominate the second half with passing of the highest quality, and eventually found themselves two goals to the good through a classy finish by Josh Bloom. A great ball played through to Bloom by Daniel Fattal allowed Bloom the time and the space to beat the Raiders defender and dink the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper. 2-0 Lions.

Soon after, Raiders found themselves back in the game through a good finish, making the last ten minutes a cautious affair for Lions. However, Lions hung on to clinch a third successive win and the three points.
