Ware Sports have played 10 games this season losing five away but the home form is somewhat different by winning three and drawing two. The game started at frantic pace with both sides finding it difficult to control the ball on a sticky surface but only eight minutes in Josh Kennett broke down the right and delivered a teasing ball into the box which was headed into the back of the net by a Ware Sports defender. The game was very scrappy with Ware Sports pressing throughout, and the pressure finally told when Ware were awarded a corner which was swung in and was finished from close range 1-1, the rest of the half played out the same.

The second half started and Ware came out with real intent and created some good chances, Lions were struggling to get hold of the ball and against the run of play Josh Kennett broke away and slotted the ball past the oncoming keeper. Lions were now on top but gave away a needless penalty when Harry Hatchwell brought down the Ware right-back, the centre forward stepped up and slotted home. With five minutes remaining, Ware nearly went 3-2 up but an outstanding save from Tray denied them, while in the closing stages, they also rattled the bar from five yards out.

Lions skipper Josh Kennett said: “This wasn’t a great game but we created many chances in the first half, we will take a point and move on to week week when we have a real test against South Midland Side Wodson Park.”
